- Pelvic Unlevelling
- Inflexibility
Being large weight-bearing joints, the hips and indeed the pelvic joints (sacro-iliac joints) are involved in nearly all our movements, especially walking and running. Both hip and sacro-iliac joint pain can severely impact our lives.
Whilst the pelvic joints have minimal movement when we reach adulthood, the hip joints, as ball and socket-type joints, should be extremely flexible in their function.
There can be many causes of pain to these areas
For example, if the nerves are irritated in the lower spine, pain can travel along the nerve and pain can occur in areas the nerve travels or passes through, such as the hip.
If the pelvis, knees or the feet are not functioning correctly they can also impact on the way the hips’ function.
Sacroiliac joint pain can be very much like sciatica, either causing localised pain, or referring down the back and side of the leg to the mid-calf region.
As there are many causes of hip or pelvic pain and discomfort, a consultation and thorough examination with a Chiropractor can be one of the best ways of determining the source of your pain and establishing the correct plan of management and care program for you.
Client Reviews
I have been to Chris for a couple of years, mainly now for maintenance treatment. He has pretty much solved my lower back and hip pain and the exercise regime and the free spiky ball given have kept me more mobile and pain free. I am moving to London next month so just wanted to thank him for the time and effort he has put in to help me, even sometimes on a weekend. I would seriously recommend Chris to anyone who is keen to improve their health and well-being.Clara Ings
From the first contact booking my first session (with a little Anxiety) I have found Chris to be fantastic, friendly, caring and very accommodating. He is extremely professional and very quickly put me ease, explaining things as he goes. The treatment he has provided to me has significantly improved my condition and Mobility while reduced the discomfort I was feeling. Easy to get to, free parking and an all-round pleasant hassle-free experience, highly recommend Chris.Kev James
My experience of attending Chris Ross Chiropractor has been life changing. I started attending his clinic about 18 months ago when recently returned from Northern Ireland, I found it difficult to move around and walk any distance. He gave me a thorough review and recommended a course of treatment to correct the alignment of my lower back. He recommended various exercises and stretches, suggested changes of pillow to improve sleep and helped me get back to easily walking a couple of miles and engaging in various physical activities. I was also able to take on an allotment and dig and cultivate the ground, which action would have been impossible beforehand. I now attend periodically for maintenance and, after travel when I have been unable to take care of my back – on these occasions, he can understand by looking at my posture exactly what has happened and what will be needed to correct it. Chris runs his clinic to the highest professional standards. He also has good links with complimentary practitioners, for example in massage for intense soft tissue work, and makes appropriate recommendations / referrals. If you are in pain or having problems moving, I would strongly recommend seeking a consultation.Carol Abel
I have had an ongoing hip problem for 3 or so years which has, for the time being stopped me from playing football. I had not had any experience with chiropractors before this, but I’ve been seeing Chris now for 10-12 weeks and the progress I’ve made in this time has been brilliant. Highly recommend.Callum Sainty
