Elbow Pain

The elbow is a hinge joint. This allows the forearm and hand to be moved towards and away from the body.

Most commonly elbow pain is due to injury, with diagnoses of tennis elbow and golfers elbow often being made.

These are painful conditions which generally occur with repetitive motions of the wrist and arms.

Many sports, hobbies and work roles require repetitive movements and although elbow pain can occasionally be due to arthritis, generally the elbow joints are much less prone to wear-and-tear compared to most other joints.

Symptoms may range from a burning to a sharp pain and/or numbness and tingling into the hand.

How Chiropractors can help Elbow Pain

Chiropractors will assess the elbow as well as the shoulder, neck, and thoracic regions to establish both “local” and more “global” cause(s) of your pain. Questions about seating posture, sleeping position as well work/ hobbies/ activities as well as a raft of specific tests will help establish an overall picture as to why you may be in pain.
